{"id":16275,"date":"2019-03-14T14:58:38","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T19:58:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bobbiejrae.com\/home\/?p=16275"},"modified":"2025-10-22T16:53:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T20:53:44","slug":"the-fire-of-the-soul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bobbiejrae.com\/home\/the-fire-of-the-soul\/","title":{"rendered":"The Fire of the Soul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em>What does the fire of your soul do to others?\u00a0 What do other souls do to you?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last night it was chilly outside, so my husband started a campfire.\u00a0 We sat close to the fire and chatted about how our camping trip was going.<\/p>\n<p>Sitting next to my hubby\u2019s fire, I realized it was just like the embers that emanate from his soul.<\/p>\n<p>He almost always puts the needs and desires of others ahead of his own.\u00a0 Although he is a Vietnam veteran and suffers from PTSD and other ailments, he does not want to drag others down when he feels down.\u00a0 So, most of the time, he smiles and laughs when he feels like crying. And, every day he tries to help everyone he can.<\/p>\n<p>The fire of his soul burns brightly and warms others around him, but the fires that burn in the souls of too many others I have encountered have not been this way.\u00a0 Embers from some of these other souls have damaged people around them instead of creating warmth, and at times they have murdered others\u2019 souls.<\/p>\n<p>How can the fire in your soul harm others?\u00a0 It harms others when your negative feelings and desires fuel your actions and words.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/the-mission\/why-negative-people-are-literally-killing-you-and-how-to-obliterate-pessimism-from-your-life-eb85fadced87\">Your negativity is emotionally contagious and impacts yourself and others in many ways.<\/a> Negativity weakens the immune system, making its victim more prone to disease, heart attacks, or a stroke.\u00a0 Sadly, it also compromises the effectiveness of the neurons in the brain and impacts both your reasoning and memory.<\/p>\n<p>If negative people seem to be trying to hurt you and literally burn\u00a0you up, please take action before they destroy you, either physically or emotionally.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Say goodbye!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No matter how hard you try, you cannot save everyone around you, so you need to save yourself first! Please say goodbye to the toxic people in your life you do not <em>have<\/em> to spend time with.<\/p>\n<p>After you say goodbye, you need to surround yourself with others who lift you higher instead of dragging you down.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Distance yourself!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, there may be some negative people in your life whom you cannot avoid\u2014like your boss or a coworker. Distance yourself from these people as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>If cigarette smoke makes you feel ill, do you remain in close proximity to others when they smoke? \u00a0No, of course not.\u00a0 Negativity impacts your health and life as much or more than second-hand smoke does, so we all should distance ourselves from negative people.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make others smile!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>President Obama said, \u201cIf you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope.\u00a0 You will fill yourself with hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many scientific studies have proven that paying it forward makes others feel better and also creates long-lasting feelings of joy within yourself.\u00a0 Joy is the best antidote to negativity.<\/p>\n<p>Bring some homemade cookies to work and share them.
