In addition, this process recycles damaged parts of our cells or parts that are not needed. It also breaks down by-products into components that your body uses to create new cells.<\/p>\n<p>So autophagy does several things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It allows your cells to update continually.<\/li>\n<li>And it reuses damaged parts and materials to build fresh cells.<\/li>\n<li>New cells autophagy creates maintain critical functions like weight regulation, hormone balance, illness prevention, and prevention of signs of aging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But as each one of us ages, our body\u2019s autophagy slows down and causes our metabolism to slow down too.<\/p>\n<p>Recently Nobel Prize winning research found a strategy that can reignite your body\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5240711\/\"> autophagy.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What did this research prove?\u00a0 It proved that the best way to turn up your body\u2019s autophagy is to induce a small amount of stress on your body by creating a short-term nutrient shortage.\u00a0 In other words, simply cutting back on foods rich in protein a few days a week\u00a0 creates an amino acid shortfall.\u00a0 This shortfall automatically engages the body\u2019s cellular cleanup cycle or
