Every time you open the door, they repeat the same cycle and you stay stuck emotionally.<\/p>\n<p>You deserve to be treated with respect and you need to give your heart time to heal.<\/p>\n<p>Now is the time to let go of the people and things that prevent you from feeling happy, whole, and loved.<\/p>\n<p>Trust me.\u00a0 I have been through this so many times in my life.\u00a0 It took much courage to break away from my ex-husband, who threatened to kill me and almost did kill me more than once, but I finally found the courage to do that.\u00a0 Then I put up with my Mother\u2019s emotional abuse for five decades.\u00a0 Finally, I have replaced that negative connection with a positive connection with a kind and loving friend.<\/p>\n<p>This Christmas is the first Christmas my Mother will not receive a Christmas gift from me.\u00a0 And I do not feel badly about this at all.\u00a0 In fact, I feel liberated from the negativity of the toxic relationship I had with her.
