Do you enjoy using social media? Do you enjoy sitting inside your home or office and chatting with people while you look at a computer screen?\u00a0 I do not.\u00a0 I would rather be outdoors and see people face to face.<\/p>\n

So I did an experiment.<\/h4>\n

I tried to make friends outside of Facebook using the Facebook techniques.<\/p>\n

Every day, I walked down the street and told everyone I passed every detail of my life. What I ate, how I felt at the moment, what I did last night, what I am doing now, what I will be doing later on today.\u00a0 Then I asked them to follow me and watch me be important.<\/p>\n

Then I gave them pictures of my family, our two dogs Simba and Chico, pictures of me sitting at my desk writing, pictures of me cleaning the house, pictures of me walking every morning.\u00a0 I also also gave them pictures of me standing in front of landmarks, doing my nails, eating lunch with friends, getting a haircut.\u00a0 Basically I gave everyone pictures of what everyone does every day.<\/p>\n

I had to buy lots of ink for my photo smart printer!<\/p>\n

I also listened to their conversations.\u00a0 I gave them the thumbs up and told them l like them and will be friends with them.\u00a0 It worked just as well as Facebook, but it was face to face and outdoors instead of in my home on a little screen.<\/p>\n

Four people followed me during my experiment\u2014two police officers, a private investigator, and a psychiatrist.<\/p>\n

I did not really do this experiment.<\/p>\n

Seriously, though, Facebook is a good way to interact with others.<\/h4>\n

But, even if you enjoy using Facebook, you should not forget the value of face to face contact with real people in the real world!\u00a0 You should not forget to pick up a real book and read it!<\/p>\n
