Do you have negative people in your life whom you cannot avoid?\u00a0 If you do, this post is for you!<\/p>\n

Early this morning I walked with my friend Wendy like normal.\u00a0 Today we discussed how she deals with negative people in her life.<\/p>\n

She told me a story about her sister, an ER nurse in Canada.\u00a0 Her sister had a coworker who was constantly blaming her for everything that was not right, no matter how small.\u00a0 Her sister finally found a way to stop this person in her tracks.\u00a0 She would stop, stand close to the offensive woman, look her in the eyes, and say, \u201cYou sure are having a bad day!\u201d\u00a0 The woman would get quiet and walk away.<\/p>\n

Wendy had a negative person in her life.\u00a0 She coped in the same way after her sister told her this trick. She also found it worked with her children when they were growing up.<\/p>\n

I thought about this for a while.<\/h5>\n

This trick works because it openly addresses the real reason for the offensive person\u2019s behavior, that he or she is having a bad day.<\/p>\n

Parents, this trick works with children.\u00a0 It makes them stop and think about why you think they are having a bad day, about their behavior.<\/p>\n

It is best to avoid negative people, especially if you work to overcome depression and anxiety or PTSD.\u00a0 But if you cannot avoid them, use this technique to eclipse their negativity from your life.<\/p>\n

Parents, use this technique to help your child understand that his behavior is impacting people around him negatively.\u00a0 It may encourage your child to stop and think about how he is acting.<\/p>\n
